Common questions
What is Aipa?
Aipa is a personal AI assistant. You talk to it like any assistant: ask questions, plan things, hand it files, set reminders. As you talk, it keeps track of the people, places, and plans you mention and how they connect, in your Nexus: everything it knows about your life.
What is the Nexus?
Everything that makes up your life as Aipa knows it, kept over time: the people, places, events, and plans from your conversations, and the small things too, like your birthday or your favorite food. It keeps how they relate as well: say your sister Maya is married to Sam, and both are in your Nexus, connected.
What is the Atlas?
The tool for looking at your Nexus, from different points of view called lenses: People (who is who, and how they are related), Places (where things are, on a map), Moments (what happened and what is coming, as a timeline or a calendar), and an Index of everything. Open it at any time to read what Aipa knows about anyone, and correct or delete it.
Do I need to set anything up?
No. Just start talking. The first time you mention someone and say who they are to you, they are in your Nexus in that same reply.
How is this different from ChatGPT or Claude?
They remember things about you too. The difference is what Aipa's memory is made of and what you can do with it. Aipa keeps the people, places, and plans in your life and how they relate in your Nexus, so it can work out that your sister's husband is your brother-in-law, or draw your family tree. You can open the Atlas, read what Aipa knows about any person or place, and correct or delete it.
What can it do besides chat?
Search the web and read links, read the photos and documents you upload, and set timers and reminders. Once you connect them, it can also play music through Spotify or Plex and control your home through Home Assistant.
What happens to my data?
Your Nexus belongs to you. We don't train models on your data or sell it to third parties. You can delete anything Aipa knows, and when you delete a conversation, what was said in it is deleted too.
Is Aipa free to try?
Aipa is free to start. The Free plan needs no credit card and includes everything Aipa does, with starter usage. When you want more, the Pro plan is $20 a month (or $200 a year) and you can cancel anytime.
Which AI models can I use?
On the plans where Aipa does the thinking, we choose the AI that runs it, so there is nothing for you to pick. We may change it as better options come along.
